East Prawle Cricket Club evolved from the Providence Inn locals, who were challenged to a game by the Pigs Nose cricket team who had been established in the village for two decades. After enjoying two games, we decided to try and get a few more fixtures. The first fixture was East Prawle against the Rest of the World to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee. From there the enthusiasm grew. By the following year, we had 12 fixtures and a tour to our friends in Masham. Two years later we had 20 fixtures and a tour to Brittany. Many more successful tours to Ireland, Wales, Cirencester, Nottingham and Brittany again followed, as well as regular returns to Masham. The club is based on inclusivity. If you want to play, local or grockel, we will get you a game, as long as you understand it's the game that counts and NOT the winning.
