2017 Match Reports

Saturday 10th. June 2017 - vs. Grittleton at Home

Won by 1 Run

East Prawle Cricket Club's first game of the 2017 season kicked off with a 35 over game against a touring side, Grittleton.

Grittleton won the toss and put East Prawle into bat on a rather green and a not altogether true wicket. As the outfield was slow boundaries were hard to come by. The weather was overcast, but not raining.

Wayne Kovacic and newcomer Dale Jefferies opened the batting, Dale was soon out having scored 8 runs. Wayne continued with support from Peter Morris. However Peter was soon out, followed by Wayne who scored an admirable 20. Runs continued to be scored with wickets falling at regular intervals. Kurt Thiele then came to the crease and scored a lively 46, supported by the remaining team members. East Prawle's final score was 140.

After tea the weather closed in and Grittleton's innings was played in, at times, thick Prawle mist making it difficult to see across the field. They managed to score a commendable 139 in their 35 overs, Prawle just managing a win in the final over. Morris, Kovacic, Tobdan, Thiele and Jefferies took the wickets.
